What we collect
Your first name, your email address (if you sign in with email, Apple, or Google), the events you create or join, your photos, your reactions, and your suggestions are stored on our servers (Supabase). We also collect basic product usage data and crash diagnostics to help us improve the app, and purchase confirmations for participant tier purchases (processed by Apple).
Account
An anonymous account is created automatically when you install the app (no email or password required). It identifies your device, not your real identity, except for the first name you choose yourself. If you choose to sign in with email, Apple, or Google to keep your account across devices, we also store the email address associated with that sign-in.
Camera and photos
Camera access is used to capture photos for your events. Photo library access is only requested to save a photo or choose a cover image. An event's photos are only visible to its members, and only after the reveal date (except to their author).
Purchases
Payments for paid participant tiers are processed entirely by Apple: Blind never sees or stores any payment information, only a purchase confirmation.
Notifications
If you enable them, local notifications let you know when your events are revealed. They're scheduled on your device, without going through a server.
Analytics & diagnostics
We use PostHog to understand how people use Blind (e.g. which features are used, onboarding completion) and crash reports to find and fix bugs. This data is linked to your account and may include your approximate location (derived from your IP address) and basic device/OS information. It's used only to improve the app — never for advertising, and never shared with third parties beyond our analytics and crash-reporting infrastructure.
Moderation
Reporting a photo records your report on the server to enable automatic hiding and moderation by the event organizer.
What we don't do
We don't use advertising SDKs, sell your data, or share it with advertisers or data brokers. We don't track you across other apps or websites.
Deletion
From the app, in Settings > Delete my account, deletion is real and irreversible: your account and profile are erased from our servers. The events and photos you've shared remain visible to other members, with an anonymized author.
